Our Beliefs
Bible We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired revelation of God. The Bible is God's Word without mistakes or errors. It is the complete revelation of God's plan for salvation and the path for Christian living. God We believe in one God, the Creator and Ruler, existing eternally in three persons; God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Humanity Human beings are a unique, creative act of God. God has created us in His spiritual image so that we might be like Him in character and enjoy a close, personal relationship with Him. However, all of us have a selfish bent which leads us to disobey God. This disobedience is called sin and separates us from God and His character. As a result, all humanity is in need of a means whereby our relationship to God can be restored.
Jesus Jesus is God's Son. In order to restore our close, personal relationship with God, Jesus came to earth, lived a sinless life, died to satisfy the judgment against our sins, and arose from the grave, and ascended into Heaven with victory over death Salvation With sin's debt paid by Jesus alone, our close, personal relationship with God can be restored. God offers the free gift of forgiveness and salvation to anyone willing to turn from sin and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Holy Spirit When a person turns to Jesus, asking Him to be the Lord of their life and eternity, the Holy Spirit comes into their being. The Holy Spirit fills the new believer with spiritual sensitivity and vitality. The Holy Spirit leads us into an understanding of God's Word, guides our decisions, helps us know when we have made a wrong choice and thereby missed God's will, and gives us the power to live a life of victory and ministry thus fulfilling His purpose and will. Baptism When a person makes a commitment to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior, the Bible teaches that He commanded us to give a visible expression of that commitment through baptism. We believe that baptism is by full immersion after salvation and is a beautiful act of first obedience to Jesus' command. Eternity Human beings were created to exist eternally, either eternally restored in relationship with God through Jesus or eternally separated from God by sin. To exist eternally separated from God is Hell. If one has trusted Jesus for forgiveness and salvation before he dies, that person will experience the ultimate expression of the close, personal relationship which God intends. That person will exist eternally with God in Heaven. Both Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. |
